WRFSCALE will continue to improve our understanding of mesoscale processes, the evolution of the turbulent boundary layer and its interaction with the underlying land surface. Nested mesoscale-to-turbulence-permitting WRF simulations with horizontal resolutions down to 10 m and PALM simulations with 5 m resolution will be carried out to investigate the spatial and temporal evolution of the convective boundary layer and its interaction with the underlying land surface. Mesoscale WRF simulations will be performed for an agricultural season on the km-scale.
