QCD simulations with stabilized Wilson fermions

On account of the different improvement term in the action, but also of algorithmic and technical improvements (e.g. SMD in place of the HMC, uniform norm for solver stopping criterion, etc.) the stabilised Wilson clover fermion discretisation has enabled stable lattice simulations across a large range of parameters in mass, volume, lattice spacing. With our previous 95M core-hours allocation we gathered experience with gauge generation & tuning of the relevant algorithmic parameters at the Nf=3 flavor-symmetric point, but on a volume setup meant to accommodate a physical pion of 135MeV. In this project we aim at the production of the finest (a=0.055fm) Nf=2+1 ensemble at 217MeV with this action. The produced configurations will serve, among many more applications, for renormalising the QCD thermodynamics results that are being obtained employing stabilised Wilson fermions. We plan to use 10% of our allocation to follow the chiral trajectory on the volume needed for a 135MeV pion.
