Ab initio simulation of QCD at physical quark masses and small lattice spacing

In order to reach subpercent precision on several important observables in lattice QCD, gauge ensembles at fine lattice spacing and at physical quark masses are required. This project aims at generating a 256x128^3 size ensemble with a lattice spacing of 0.05fm and physical quark masses. This will in particular have a significant impact on the calculation of the leading hadronic contribution of the muon (g-2), as well as on the calibration of the lattice spacing (scale setting).
