Computing time for the high performance compute systems installed at HLRS of the University of Stuttgart is requested for two scientific applications in this proposal. In the first subproject, the interaction of biomass particles in anisotropic turbulent flows will be analyzed through particle resolved numerical simulations which are compared to point-particle approaches. In the second subproject, the two-phase flow in sealing gaps of twin-screw compressors will be investigated using coupled multiphase simulations.
