Numerical simulations of cosmic structure formation are one of our most powerful theoretical tools to understand the large-scale structure of the Universe and the physical processes that govern the formation and evolution galaxies. Our previous cosmological magnetohydrodynamical simulations at HLRS (IllustrisTNG and TNG50) have been highly successful, and we are now developing the next-generation of galaxy formation simulations. Our numerical framework remains the AREPO code: a Finite-volume Godunov scheme on an unstructured dynamic Voronoi mesh for hydrodynamics; Particle-based N-body methods for the collisionless components: tree and grid-based Poisson solver for self-gravity; HLLD Riemann solver with divergence cleaning scheme for MHD; Second-order Runge-Kutta method with adaptive time-stepping.
