The direct detection of gravitational waves from merging binary black holes and binary neutron stars has opened a new window to our Universe. The interpretation of measured data requires the presence of accurate gravitational-wave models to cross-correlate the data with the theoretical predictions. With this allocation, we will perform numerical-relativity simulations with the BAM code, which is used to develop and validate gravitational-waveform approximants.
