Instationäre Lasten an Windenergieanlagen bei atmosphärischer Zuströmung

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Universität Stuttgart

Institut für Aerodynamik und Gasdynamik (IAG)

The project presented aims to improve the predictions of wind turbine loads and wakes for operations in complex environments. This often justifies the effort of high-fidelity CFD-methods. Even more so, because an accurate prediction of unsteady aerodynamics is the basis of the calculation of aeroacoustic emissions, which become more and more important during design. The flow simulations are conducted using the Navier-Stokes solver FLOWer by DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in conjunction with higher order schemes and scale resolving simulation techniques, which have been implemented at the IAG recently.
