The prediction of airframe noise will be carried out with a hybrid RANS-LES and APE method. First a flow simulation of the turbulent flow around a high lift device is done with a zonal RANS-LES method in order to determine the acoustic sources. Subsequently, the acoustic field is determined by solving acoustic perturbation equations. The major resources are required by the simulation of the turbulent flow, which is done on a grid with approx. 300 million grid points resulting in a simulation time of 120.000 single CPU hours of NEC SX-9.
